The biome that we are researching is temperate grasslands. The temperature in this biome is usally cold, although it depends on where they are. Temperate grasslands that are far away from the tropics are cold and there are often strong windy weather. Temperate Grasslands that are close to the tropics have hotter summers and moderate winters.
The rainfall also depends on the location of the temperate grassland. Near deserts, temperate grasslands with little grass recieve about 10 inches (250 mm) of rain per year. Near forests, temperate grasslands with long grass recieve about 30 inches (750 mm) of rain per year. The most rainfall occurs in spring and the beginning of summer. There is a lot of sunlight because it is required for the grass to grow. There is usually not a lot of humidity. Every temperate grassland has similar climates, but each one has different conditions. Many temperate grasslands are known to have tornados.
In temperate grasslands, there are multiple species of insects, spiders, reptiles, birds and mammals. There are also many types of plants.
What type of climate is in your biome?

My biome is a savanna. The type of climate in a savanna is very warm. There is lots of precipitation during the summer and rarely any during the winter.
ReplyDeleteThe type of climate in my biome is very cold. My biome is Coniferous Forests. Most Coniferous Forests are found in the North which explians the cold weather. The animals and plants have adaptations to live in the cold; such as: the needles on most Conifer trees.
